Embracing Coastal Grandmother with Custom Wedding Menus

Planning a wedding is all about capturing the essence of your personal love story and creating unique details that make your celebration unforgettable. Recently, I had the chance to display my custom wedding stationery at the iconic Black Walnut Point Inn on Tilghman Island. This venue is filled with breathtaking views, which was the perfect backdrop for my wedding menus inspired by the timeless “Coastal Grandmother” aesthetic!

Bringing coastal grandmother into your wedding day

The “Coastal Grandmother” style is all about effortless elegance, comfort and a connection to the natural beauty of the coast. To create this charm in these wedding menus, I selected a variety of elegant paper textures and design elements that represented the tranquil, beachy vibes with a modern twist.

  1. Concrete GMUND paper: mimicking the sand

To capture the essence of the sandy shores, O chose Concrete GMUND paper for the menus. This textured paper has the perfect resemblance and feel of sand, adding such an authentic coastal touch to the menus. It’s also the perfect canvas for calligraphy or modern typography, bringing a natural element to your wedding day.

2. Whitewashed wood paper

Layered beneath the concrete paper, the whitewashed wood paper adds a subtle, rustic charm. This whitewash effect mimics the timeless driftwood found along the shore. It enhances the coastal theme while maintaining a sophisticated look.

3. Leather tags with copper accents

For a touch of modern elegance, I incorporated leather tags with copper accents into the menu design. The rich texture of the leather combined with the warm, metallic sheen of the copper creates a stunning contrast against the paper textures. These tags can also be personalized with your guests’ makes for a functional purpose.

4.handmade net paper

To complete the Coastal Grandmother aesthetic, I included handmade net paper underneath the menus. This delicate paper mimics the look of fishing nets which adds a layer of nautical charm. It’s subtle enough, yet adds to the coastal theme beautifully.
